The Foundation Year

Stars College recruits students into the Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies, delivered by our partner Brussels College, Centre code SCH005.

This is a regulated, UK-awarded qualification (RQF Level 3) for students who don't yet meet direct entry requirements for Bachelor's-level study. It builds English, mathematics, and study skills alongside a Business or Computing orientation, giving you a structured route onto a Bachelor's degree pathway.

A regulated qualification, taught locally in Brussels, built to move you straight into degree-level study.

The International Foundation Diploma is a UK-regulated qualification, delivered on the Brussels College campus.

A Direct Route Into Year 1

Successful completion is designed to progress directly onto Brussels College's Bachelor's degree pathways.

Two Orientations

Business orientation or Computing orientation, matching the degree pathway you plan to continue onto.

Taught on the Brussels Campus

One year, 120 credits, with intakes in September and February. Taught in person (or hybrid) at Brussels College.

Brussels College's Foundation Programmes

Both are 1-year, 120-credit programmes.

Foundation in Higher Education Studies — Business English, maths, study skills, plus accounting, economics, international business and law — for progression onto a Business Management degree pathway.
Foundation in Higher Education Studies — Computing English, maths, study skills, plus programming with Python, computer science and the digital world — for progression onto a Computer Science degree pathway.

Brussels College delivers the Foundation year on its Brussels campus, under the standards, quality assurance, and academic oversight of the qualification's UK-based awarding organisation, regulated by Ofqual.

A Route Toward a Full Degree

The Foundation year is a preparatory qualification that prepares students who don't yet meet direct entry requirements to move onto Brussels College's Bachelor's degree pathways — including routes to a full UK degree or a US degree recognised by the Higher Learning Commission.
