Course Description

The Art & Design course is designed to develop learners' knowledge, understanding, and skills in various aspects. It focuses on in-depth subject content, independent thinking, applying knowledge to different situations, evaluating information sources, logical thinking, effective communication, and working in English. The course emphasises visual perception, aesthetic experience, and the unique language of art and design. Learners engage in practical and studio-based work to enhance their observation, analysis, sensitivity, personal expression, and imagination. They also gain insights into their own cultures, past and present, and develop an appreciation for practical design problems.

Course Outline

The course encourages learners to explore a range of processes and techniques suitable for their chosen area of study. It covers four main areas: Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Three-dimensional Design, and Textiles and Fashion.
