Starscollege’s qualifications are designed for learners aged 18 and above. The entry profile may include a Level 3 Diploma, GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects, or relevant management experience for mature learners (over 21). Non-native English speakers must provide evidence of English language competency.
Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma qualifications equate to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme, representing practical knowledge, skills, capabilities, and competences.
The Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management consists of twelve mandatory units, 240 credits, 2400 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT), and a minimum of 1200 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). To achieve this, learners must gain 240 credits, with 120 credits at Level 4 (6 units) and 120 credits at Level 5 (6 units).
Level 4 units include Academic Writing and Research Skills, Business Environment for Tourism and Hospitality, Services Marketing in Tourism and Hospitality, Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality, Events Management, and The Development of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. Level 5 units include Digital Marketing Management for Tourism and Hospitality, Operations Management, Management Accounting, Management of Human Resources, Customer Relationship Management, and Contemporary Issues in Tourism and Hospitality.
The qualification is designed for two academic years of full-time study, with flexibility for part-time and distance learning. It is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and online by approved centres only.
All units are internally assessed and externally verified by Starscollege. To pass a unit, learners must demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.
Success in our English-taught qualifications requires learners to possess a sufficient level of English language skills. Applicants must demonstrate English language comprehension equivalent to IELTS (International English Language Testing System) 5.5 to be eligible for enrollment in our programs.
Successful completion of the Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management provides learners with opportunities for a wide range of academic progressions, including the Starscollege Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
