Language Proficiency

English serves as the primary language of instruction at London Stars College. We believe that the ability to effectively engage with the curriculum and thrive in an English-language learning environment is crucial for students' academic success.

For our youngest learners, immersing them in the English language curriculum is typically sufficient for them to rapidly develop proficient English language skills. As students transition to Key Stage 3 education (Years 7-9), it is expected that they possess a sufficient level of English proficiency to fully benefit from our rigorous academic programs.

To ensure that students are well-equipped to access the curriculum, we assess their English proficiency. In cases where additional support is required, we offer our English Preparatory Programmes, which provide tailored options for students to excel in English at any level, from beginner to intermediate to proficient. This program is designed to help students enhance their language skills and become eligible to fully participate in our schools.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where language barriers are addressed, and all students can thrive. We understand that language acquisition is a journey, and our dedicated teachers and staff work closely with students to provide the necessary resources, guidance, and encouragement to facilitate their English language development.
