Starscollege Level 3 qualifications are accessible to learners aged 16 and above. Starscollege doesn’t set specific entry prerequisites, ensuring that learners have the appropriate capability level for the learning and assessment process. Starscollege centres are responsible for recruiting learners with integrity onto suitable qualifications that will meet their needs, facilitate learning and achievement, and enable progression. The qualification is offered in English.
Starscollege Level 3 qualifications are equivalent to GCE AS/A Levels in academic terms, representing practical knowledge, skills, capabilities, and competencies.
The Starscollege Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Employability and Workplace Skills comprises six mandatory units, totaling 60 credits, 600 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), and 240 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
The mandatory units include Career Planning and Development, Managing own Performance, Personal and Professional Development, Employment Skills, Working in a Business Environment, and Managing Resources. Each unit is worth 10 credits.
The qualification is designed for one academic year of full-time study but is flexible to accommodate part-time and distance learning. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, and online by approved centres only.
If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency. For more information, please visit the English Language Expectations page.
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by Starscollege. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes. To pass a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. The Assessor makes the judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.
To succeed in our English-taught qualifications, learners must possess a requisite level of English language proficiency. All applicants are expected to demonstrate English comprehension equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.5. For non-native English speakers without the last two years of schooling in English, centers must ensure proficiency at levels such as CEFR B2, PTE Academic 51, or IELTS 5.5 (with specific requirements for Reading and Writing). Individual learner proficiency evidence is at the discretion of the center.
Successful completion of the Starscollege Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Employability and Workplace Skills provides learners with the opportunity for workplace and academic progressions to a wide range of Starscollege Level 4 diplomas.
