Starscollege’s qualifications are designed for learners aged 18 and above. Entry profiles include a Level 3 Diploma, GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects, or relevant management experience for mature learners. English language competency is required for non-native speakers.
Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma qualifications are equivalent to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
The Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Business consists of 12 mandatory units, 240 credits, and 2400 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT). To achieve this, learners must gain 240 credits, with 120 credits at Level 4 and 120 credits at Level 5.
Starscollege's Level 4 and Level 5 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Business includes 12 mandatory units. Level 4 units include Academic Writing and Research Skills, Business and the Economic Environment, Principles of Financial Accounting, Quantitative Methods in a Business Context, Management Accounting, and Leading and Managing Teams. Level 5 units encompass Principles and Concepts of Business Strategy, Financial Management, Financial Planning and Control, Financial Reporting, The Management of Human Resources, and Business Start-up; Conception to Market. Each unit is worth 20 credits, providing a comprehensive and practical understanding of accounting and business.
The qualification is designed for two academic years of full-time study but can accommodate part-time and distance learning. It is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, and online by approved centres.
All units are internally assessed and externally verified by Starscollege. To pass a unit, learners must demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.
Successful completion of the Starscollege Level 5 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Business provides learners with opportunities for a wide range of academic progressions, including the Starscollege Level 6 Diploma in Accounting and Business qualification. Learners are eligible to gain direct entry into Year 3 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
Success in our English-taught qualifications requires learners to possess a sufficient level of English language skills. Applicants must demonstrate English language comprehension equivalent to IELTS (International English Language Testing System) 5.5 to be eligible for enrollment in our programs.
