Course Description

The Spanish course for Cambridge Secondary School is a comprehensive program designed to develop students' proficiency in the Spanish language at level A2. Through engaging online lessons and activities, students will gain insights into the culture and society of Spanish-speaking countries and communities. The course aims to foster positive attitudes towards other languages and cultures while providing enjoyment and intellectual stimulation.

Course Objectives

  • Develop language proficiency to effectively communicate in Spanish at level A2.
  • Foster an understanding of the nature of language and language learning.
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards speakers of other languages and promote cultural empathy.

The course content is organized into five broad topic areas: Everyday activities, Personal and social life, The world around us, The world of work, and The international world. These topics provide meaningful contexts for vocabulary acquisition, grammar study, and cultural exploration. Students will engage with a variety of texts, both written and spoken, to develop reading comprehension and the ability to extract relevant information. They will also have opportunities to practice writing in Spanish on familiar topics and engage in everyday conversations to develop their oral communication skills.
